About Dr. Nelva Lee

Dr. Nelva Lee is the Founder and CEO of MiTio Inc. a Medical and Court Interpreting and Translating Training Institute. MiTio Inc. trains and employs Interpreters and Translators directly to healthcare/legal organizations in need of its services. Dr. Lee was a Subject Matter Expert in the creation of the CMI exam for the NBCMI and was respectively its first Chair.


Dr. Lee has over 20 years of experience in healthcare and over 10 years in academia as an adjunct professor. She is a Governor Kemp appointed board member to the Department of Community Health. She is Chairman of the board of the Henry County Pregnancy Resource Center (Bridge Wellness South), and a former Republican candidate for State Senate in District 17. Dr. Lee has authored several books including: “The Good Christian Wife” and “Be the Super Hero of Your Story.”


Dr. Lee volunteers at TPC, her local church, and has been married to her best friend Donnie for over 20 years, together they have 3 children.

The challenge for most organizations isn’t in hiring diverse individuals, it’s in keeping them, retaining them. Once you have hired your diverse staff, the problems you then face is in your turnover rates of your diverse workers

  • If you are simply hitting diversity metrics for hiring, but not looking at promoting them from within, you are conveying by this omission that you just want to appear to care about diversity
